American Muslim Voice (AMV), Woodland Community College, Ethic Studies Department of Woodland Community College and Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) of UC Davis sponsored a Muslim Youth Leadership Conference for Woodland High Schools.
The event was held on April 13, 2019 at the Community College, Woodland. The event was co-sponsored by the Joint Unified School District of Woodland.
The youth conference included fun activities. The conference focus was on educational and leadership experiences with perspectives from local leaders on effective leadership.
The conference was addressed by Samina Sundas, Founding Executive Director of the American Muslim Voice, Khalid Saeed, National President of the AMV as well as Prof. Melissa Moreno of Woodland College addressed the conference.
There were two workshops. Being Muslim in the U.S. and how identities impact our experience was the topic of first workshop. Why should we be civically engaged? Was the topic of the second workshop.
UC Davis Youth Coordinator, Maryam Irfan was moderator of the two workshops. She was assisted by Sharmeen Saeed.
