Multifaith Peace Picnic 2023, in Palo Alto CA

Multifaith Peace Picnic was held on September 11, 2023, outside the Palo Alto City Center to commemorate the 9-11 tragedy. The annual event was sponsored by American Muslim Voice Foundation, Dave Cortese, CA State Senator and Multifaith Voices for Peace & Justice.

 Lydia Kou, Mayor of Palo Alto, welcomed the audience while several members of the Palo Alto City Council were also present. Multifaith Prayers were presented by Farha Andrabi, Co-Founder and President MVPA Musalla, Chaplain in training, Rev. Burke Owens, Senior Pastor at the First United Methodist Methodist Church of Palo Alto and Chaim Koritzinsky, Rabbi of Congregation Etz Chayim.

Omar Naeem Raza was Emcee of the event which concluded with a candlelight vigil.
