Samina will speak at the PACC’s
Pakistan Day event on August 15
To commemorate the 61st anniversary of Pakistan’s independence, Pakistani American Cultural Center (PACC), Milpitas, CA, is organizing a program under the title “Pakistan of 1947.”
Two prominent community leaders will present their thoughts and answer questions. Ms. Samina Faheem Sundas, Founding Executive Director of the American Muslim Voice (AMV) will provide background on the events surrounding independence and Dr. Waheed Siddiqee, a community leader, will give his reflections of 1947 as he saw it.
You will have a chance to see a rare copy of Life magazine dated August 18, 1947 with 10 page spread on the independence with many photos of the time.
Syed Zafar Mohsin, an organizer of the event, says that this event is for all Muslims and non-Muslims to share the history/ values of Pakistan Independence Day. Everyone is WELCOME.
The program will start at 8:00 p.m. on Friday August 15, 2008. Snacks will be provided.
